The presentation of “AIRO 2026” and a robotics exhibition were held at the ship museum.

The official presentation of the “AIRO 2026” International Robotics Olympiad and a robotics exhibition were held at ASCO’s “Surakhani” ship museum.

The event was attended by students and faculty members of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy, representatives of the Azerobot Training Center, Baku Higher Oil School, Maestro School programming center, as well as young inventors and technology enthusiasts.

During the presentation, the Olympiad’s categories across various fields, competition rules, technical requirements, and evaluation criteria were explained in detail. Information was also provided about a hackathon to be organized for the first time within the program, as well as the mega sumo and mini sumo robot competitions, which are of great interest to young people.

As part of the event, a robot battle was demonstrated between the ASCO Techno team of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy and the team of the Azerobot Training Center. Participants had the opportunity to closely examine the operating principles of innovative technologies developed by young innovators.

Mentors and industry experts answered questions on robotics and artificial intelligence, encouraging young people to be more actively involved in this field.

It should be noted that within the framework of its cooperation with the Azerobot Training Center, ASCO consistently supports projects in the fields of robotics and innovation. These initiatives also include the project “Shipping: Young Inventors and Innovations.”

For reference, at the “AIRO 2025” International Robotics Olympiad, the ASCO Techno team composed of students from the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy successfully competed in the mega sumo category. The final gala evening of that Olympiad was also held at the “Surakhani” ship-museum.
